IDEA Europe and WDA instructors and divemasters are not employees or representatives of these organisations, but independent professionals authorised to use the trademarks and training systems of IDEA Europe and WDA.
IDEA Europe and the WDA are not directly involved in teaching activities and cannot control the conduct of courses; their role consists solely of providing professionals with training standards and course materials, and finally issuing certifications to students at the request of the instructor who delivered the course. Therefore, theoretical and practical training, as well as all related in-water activities, take place under the sole responsibility of the professionals involved in the courses.
In particular, IDEA Europe and the WDA are in no way involved in dives undertaken by divers, whether carried out independently, or under the supervision of professionals, or within the context of a diving centre.
